Oconto Falls is a city in Oconto County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 2,891 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Green Bay Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city is separated by east and west sides by the O Conto River. A post office has been in operation in the city since 1871, and the city was named for falls on the Oconta River. The U.S. Census Bureau estimates that the city has a total area of 2.95 square miles (7.64 km²), of which, 2.73 square miles of land is land and 0.22 sq miles (0.57 km²) is water. In 2000, the city had a population of 2,843 people, 1,166 households, and 719 families. In the city, the average household size was 2.35 and the average family size was2.81. For every 100 females, there were 90.8 males, and there were 85.1 males over the age of 18. About 5.5% of the city's population were below the poverty line, including 10.7% of those under 18 years of age. The median income for a city was $17,170, including 5.9% of families. History
A post office called Oconto Falls has been in operation since 1871. The city was named for falls on the O Conto River. The post office is located on the corner of Main Street and Main Street in the downtown area of the city. It is located at the intersection of Main and Main Streets in the city's downtown area.
