Verona is a census-designated place (CDP) in Augusta County, Virginia, United States. The population was 4,239 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Staunton-Waynesboro Micropolitan Statistical Area. Mount Airy and Verona School are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Augusta County has announced in 2021 a plan to move the county seat to Verona. The CDP has a total area of 7.0 square miles (18.2 km²), of which, 7.1 square miles of it is land and 0.14% is water. History
Augusta County has announced in 2021 a plan to move the county seat from Staunton to Verona. Mount Airy and Verona School are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The county seat is expected to be moved in the next few years. The town of Verona has a population of about 2,000. It is located in the eastern part of the county, about 30 miles from St.aunton, the county's largest city. It was founded in the early 1800s and is located on the banks of the Rappahannock River, which flows into the Ohio River. The community has a history of being involved in local politics, including the founding of the town's first school in 18th century. It has also been home to a number of other historic sites, such as the Verona Church and the Veronia School, which were built in the late 19th century and early 20th century, respectively.

It is located near the junction of Interstate 91 and Interstate 80. The U.N. World Heritage Site is located nearby. The city's name is derived from the town's name, which means "beautiful place" or "beauty's place" in Italian. It was named after a local town in the area, which was once called "Verona" and is now known as "Verrona" The town's population is 1,716, according to the United States Census Bureau. It has an area of 7.0 square miles (18.2 km²), of which 7.3 square miles (18.1 sq mi) is land, and 0.14 square mile (0.7 sq km) is water, making it one of the smallest CDPs in the state. The CDP is located on the New Jersey Turnpike, which runs from New Jersey to New Jersey. The Turnpikes are one of the busiest highways in the state, with a daily traffic volume of more than 100,000 vehicles. The New Jersey Tollway, which connects New Jersey with New Jersey and New York, also runs through the town.
