A post office called Ewing has been in operation since 1894. The community was named after William Ewing, a pioneer citizen. The population of the city was 456 at the 2010 census. The city's population is expected to reach 406 at the 2020 census. Ewing is in the Lewis County C-1 School district. Students attend the nearby Highland Elementary and Highland Junior-Senior High School. The median income for a household in the city is $30,000, and the income for the city as a whole is $39,167. History

A post office called Ewing has been in operation since 1894. The community was named after William Ewing, a pioneer citizen. Ewing is located on the Ohio River, which runs through the town. The town has a population of about 1,000. The post office is located at the intersection of Ewing Road and Ewing Avenue.

Ewing is home to the U.S. Air Force Air National Guard, which has a base in Ewing, North Carolina. It is also home to North Carolina's National Guard Air Force Base, which is located in the town of Ewing. It has a population of 1,071, according to the 2010 U.N. Census. The city's population was 1,082, with a growth rate of 1.3% from 2000 to 2010. It was the site of the U S. Army Air National guard's first air base in the 1940s and 1950s. The base is now the base of the North Carolina Air National Guards Air Force Station, which was established in 1950. The station is in the Ewing area of North Carolina, and was the first base for the Army Air Corps of Engineers in the 1950s and 1960s, when it was called the "Ewing Army Base" It is the location of the N.C. National Guard's Camp Ewing base, which began in the 1960s and was known as the "Camp Ewing" The base has been known as Ewing since the 1970s and is located near the town's base of Fort Worth.

James Earl Ray, boyhood home after moving here from Bowling Green, Missouri at the age of seven. He moved to his birth home of Alton, Illinois at the aged of 16. He was born and raised in Alton and moved to Bowling Green when he was seven years old. He died in a car accident in 2009. He is survived by his wife and two children. He has been married for more than 30 years and has three children. His son, James Earl Ray II, was born in Bowling Green and grew up in Illinois before moving to Alton. He also has a daughter, Jennifer Ray, and a son, Michael Ray, who were born in Illinois and live in Missouri. He had a son named James Ray Ray III, who died in 2010. His daughter Jennifer Ray is also a former Miss Illinois and Missouri runner-up, and is now a Miss Illinois contestant. He won the Miss Illinois high school journalism award in 2000. He went on to win the Illinois Governor's Award for Outstanding Male Athlete in 2002. He later won the Illinois State Governor's award in 2003 for his work in public service and was awarded the Governor's Medal of Honor in 2004. He served in the U.S. House of Representatives for two terms from 2003 to 2007. He currently lives in Illinois with his wife, Jennifer, and has two children, James and Michael Ray Ray II. His grandson, James Ray, III, is also in the Illinois Army National Guard.
