Franklin Park is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 18,467 at the 2020 census, up from 18,333 at the 2010 census. It was named for real estate broker Lesser Franklin who bought acres of the area when it was a majority of farming fields. Franklin Park is in the close proximity of O'Hare International Airport; airplanes can be seen taking off and descending over the village. The village is served by three railroads: Canadian Pacific Railway, Canadian National Railway (formerly Wisconsin Central), and the Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad. It is home to Grand Stand Pizza, in 2005 voted Best Thin Crust in Chicago by Fox News Chicago, A.M. Castle & Co, R&M Trucking Co, Chucking Machine Products, Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home & Crematorium, Precision Steel Warehouse, Inc., and Ex-Cell Kaiser, manufacturers of waste and recycling products. It has three Metra stations: Belmont Avenue on Metra's North Central Service, which provides daily rail service between Antioch, Illinois and Chicago, Illinois (at Union Station); Franklin Park and Mannheim on the Milwaukee District/West Line which connects Chicago to Elgin, Illinois. It also has a portion of Franklin Park High School, which will close permanently after 2020. The only nearby college is the community college Noto Triton College, which is located in the nearby town of Spring Spring. It will close after 2020 after four years.

According to the 2021 census gazetteer files, Franklin Park has a total area of 4.77 square miles (12.35 km²), all land. The park is located in the town of Franklin, New Jersey. Franklin Park is located on the New Jersey Turnpike, which runs through the town. It has a population of about 2,000. The town is home to the Franklin Park Golf Club, which has a membership of about 1,000 people. The racial makeup of the village was 48.15% White, 1.68% African American, 2.04% Native American, 3.95% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 26.00% from other races, and 18. 15% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 52.16% of the population. The village's age distribution consisted of 22.0% under the age of 18, 9.6% from 18 to 24, 29.2% from 25 to 44, 27% from 45 to 64, and 12.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37.3 years. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.8 males. The average household size was 3.67 and the average family size was 4.09. The population density was 3,868.24 inhabitants per square mile (1,493.54/km²). There were 6,604 housing units at an average density of 1,383.33 per squaremile (534.11/ km²) The median income for a household in theVillage was $67,755, and the median family income was $82,361. The park was once home to the Chicago Cubs baseball team, which moved to Franklin Park in the 1950s. It also hosted the Chicago Bears baseball team in the 1960s and 1970s, and the Chicago Blackhawks hockey team in 1980s and 1990s. In 2005, the park was voted the best place in Chicago to live by the Chicago Sun-Times. Private Catholic schools in nearby River Grove (of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago): St. Cyprian Catholic Elementary School. Guerin College Preparatory High School - Guerin will close permanently after Spring 2020. Triton College is the area community college. The school district also includes Mannheim School District 83, which includes Enger School, for disabled children. The district is part of the Metropolitan Chicago School District, which also includes Schiller Park and Westdale School Districts. It is located in the suburbs of Chicago, Milwaukee, and St. Louis. It has a population of about 2.3 million people (as of the 2010 census). The district has an enrollment of about 4,000 people (or 1.2 million in the 2010 Census). It is one of the largest school districts in the state, with more than 1,000 students in elementary and high schools. It also has a number of private Catholic schools, many of which are in the River Grove area of the Chicago Arch Diocese.
