North Manchester is a town in Chester Township, Wabash County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. The population was 6,112 at the 2010 census. The community was named after Manchester, in England. Thomas R. Marshall, who served as Governor of Indiana and as Vice President of the United States under President Woodrow Wilson, was born in North Manchester. Martin Luther King Jr. gave a speech at Manchester College on February 1, 1968. Robert F. Kennedy also visited Manchester College during his 1968 presidential campaign he, too, would be assassinated a few weeks later. North Manchester is located at 41°014N 85°4621W (41.003951, -85.772573) The town has a total area of 3.61 square miles (9.35 km²), of which 3.53 square miles of land (or 97.78%) is land and 0.08 sq miles (0.21 km²) (or 2.22%) is water. The Lentz House (Hotel Sheller), Manchester College Historic District, Thomas R.-Marshall School, Noftzger-Adams House, North Manchester Covered Bridge, and Peabody Memorial Tower are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The North Manchester Planing and Band Saw Mill was formerly listed. The town was 96.2% White, 1.1% African American, 0.3% Native American,0.8% Asian, 1,2% from other races, and 1.3 per cent from two or more races.

North Manchester is home to the North Manchester Football Club. The club was founded in 1881 and is based in North Manchester. It is one of the oldest football clubs in the UK. The North Manchester football club was formed in 1871 and is located in the North West of England. It was the first football club to be founded in the United Kingdom. It won the FA Cup in 1986 and the League Cup in 1991. It also won the European Cup in 1996 and the European Championship in 2000. It has been the home of the Manchester United Football Club since 1986. The team won the World Cup in 2000 and the Champions League in 2010. The town has a population of 2,856. It had a population increase of 1,854 in the year to 2010. It lost 1,788 in the 2010 Census. It recorded a population loss of 1.876 in the same year. History

The community was named after Manchester, in England. The North Manchester post office has been in operation since 1838. On February 1, 1968, Martin Luther King Jr. gave a speech at Manchester College. This was the last time he spoke at a college campus, as he was assassinated eight weeks later. Robert F. Kennedy also visited Manchester College during his 1968 presidential campaign. Thomas R. Marshall, who served as Governor of Indiana and as Vice President of the United States under President Woodrow Wilson, was born in North Manchester. The Lentz House (Hotel Sheller), Manchester College Historic District, and North Manchester Covered Bridge are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. North Manchester Planing and Band Saw Mill was formerly listed. It is no longer listed as a historic district. The town's first post office opened on February 13, 1846. It was called the 'Original Plat of Manchester' by Peter Ogan, acting as the town's founder. In the early 20th century, automobiles were made here by the DeWitt Motor Company. The community is home to the North Manchester Public Library, which was founded in 1838, and the Manchester College College, which dates back to the 18th century. It has a public library that opened in 1846, as well as a public park and a community center. It also has a covered bridge that was built in the early 1900s. The city's first fire department was established in 1836. It opened in the 1838; it was named the 'Manchester Fire Department' in 1842.

It is located on the Army Corps' 7th Army District, which includes the Army Air Force, Air Force Reserve, and Air Force National Guard areas. It was the site of the World War II Battle of the Bulge, which took place in World War I and II. It has been home to the National Guard since the 1950s, when it was called the "Bulge of the Confederacy" The town's name comes from the word "bulge", which means "bullet" or "bullets".

North Manchester is also home to North Manchester High School and North Manchester Grammar School. It also has a number of other schools, such as North Manchester Infant School, North Manchester Primary School, and North Manly High School for Boys. The North Manchester School for Girls is also located in the town. It has a school for girls, which was opened in the 1970s. It was closed in the 1990s and reopened in the 2000s. The school is now called North Manchester Girls' High School, which opened in 2007. It is located on the edge of the town, and has a girls' primary school and a boys' high school, which open in the 2010s.
