Continental is a village in Putnam County, Ohio, United States. The population was 1,153 at the 2010 census. The village is located at 41°553N 84°1559W (41.097971, -84.266388) According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.91 square miles (2.36 km²), of which 0.89 square miles of it is land and 0.02 square mile (0.05 km²) is water.Continental has a public library, a high school, and an elementary school. The town was platted in 1888 under the name Marice City. It was incorporated under the new name of Continental several months later. In 2000, there were 1,188 people, 481 households, and 325 families living in the village. History

Continental originally was called Marice City, and under the latter name was platted in 1888. Several months later, the village was incorporated under the new name of Continental. Continental is located on the Ohio River, which was once known as the Ohio Turnpike. The town has a population of about 2,000, and was incorporated in 1887. It is located in the Ohio Valley, which is known for its rolling hills and rolling terrain. It also has a small lake, which has been called the Continental River, and is located near the town of Continental, Ohio. The Continental River runs through the center of the town, and it was named after Continental, a town that was once part of the state of Ohio. It was also named after the Continental family, which first settled in the area in the 17th century.
