Trappe is a town in Talbot County, Maryland, United States. The population was 1,077 at the 2010 census. It is the site of one of the largest mixed-use developments on the U.S. East Coast called Trappe East or "Lakeside" with controversy arising over its wastewater treatment. It may have been named for either wolf traps or a Trappist monastery.Compton and The Wilderness are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. History

Trappe was incorporated in 1827. It may have been named for either wolf traps or a Trappist monastery.Compton and The Wilderness are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A Blessing Box was installed at the Trappe Volunteer Firehouse in 2019 by Josh Cherry. It is the first time a Blessing Box has been installed at a volunteer firehouse in the state of New Hampshire. The Blessing Box is a gift from the town of Trappe to the community. It was installed by the town's volunteer fireman, Josh Cherry, in 2019.
