The church was established in 2011 to serve the needs of the large Spanish-speaking Catholic Latino community in the area. The borough has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1.3 km²) Mark Sullivan (1874-1952) was born on a farm just outside Avondale and returned to live on that same farm in his later years. The father-inlaw is a former U.S. Air Force pilot who served in the Gulf War. The mother-and-son team were married in 2002 and 2003. The son and the daughter- in-law have been married since 2007 and 2009, respectively. They have two children, a boy and a girl, who were born in 2008 and 2009. The parents-in law live in a house that was built in the 1970s. The children live in an apartment complex on the second floor.
