The community was named after John Martin, a pioneer citizen. The community was named after John Martin, a pioneer citizen. The community is located in the central part of the state. The town has a population of about 2,000 people. It is located on the banks of the Mississippi River, about 20 miles from the town of Bemidji, the state's largest city. It was founded by John Martin in 1858, after he moved there from New York City.

The borough is part of the New Jersey Bay Area, which is also known as the Mid-Hudson Bay Area and the Delaware Bay Area. It is the only borough in New Jersey that is not part of New Jersey or New York City. It has a population of 1,856 (1,854 in the 2010 Census) and a population density of 1.2 people per square mile (3.1/km²) The borough's population was 1,788 (1, 836 in the 2000 Census) in 2010. The town's population has declined from 1,938 in the 1950s to 1,632 in the 1990s. It was the site of the first recorded lynching in the United States, in 1858. The city's name is derived from the town's first inhabitants, the Martinsburg Indians, who came to the area in the late 1800s. The current mayor of the borough is the son of a former mayor, who was killed in a car accident in the early 1900s. He is a former member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and served as mayor from 1961 to 1970. The Borough's population is 1,800 (1.,868 in the 1970s and 2010s).
