East Petersburg Community Park is home to the East Petersburg Swim Team, which is operated by the East Hempfield Area Area Recreation Commission. There are six churches within the borough: East Petersburg Mennonite Church, East Petersburg Presbyterian Church, and East Petersburg United Methodist Church. The Borough Council meets twice per month to conduct business. It is the only high school in the borough, and the only one in Lancaster County. It has a junior high and high school, both of which are located in the town of Manheim. The high school has a senior high and a junior college, which are both located in Neffsville. The town has a high school and a middle school, with grades 8-13. It also has an elementary school, which was founded in the 1880s. It was the first high school to open in the area, and was the last in the state to do so in the 1930s and 1940s. East Petersburg Day is celebrated annually in September with a parade and community festivities in East Petersburg Community Park. East Petersburg Swimming Pool, which is operated by the Hempfield Area Recreation Commission, is home to the East Petersburg Swim Team.
