Martinsburg

Martinsburg is a borough in the Morrisons Cove section of Blair County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,874 at the 2020 census. The community was named after John Martin, a pioneer citizen. The borough is located at 40°1838N 78°1932W (40.310548, -78.325628).According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.6 km²), all of it land. The median income for a household in the borough was $27,125, and the median family income was $36,797. About 10.6% of families and 13.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 20.7% of those under age 18 and 7.9% ofThose age 65 or over. The town is part of the Altoona, PA Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is located on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, which runs from New Jersey to Delaware. The Turnpix is a popular destination for travelers to Pennsylvania. The turnpike is one of the busiest roads in the U.S., with more than 100,000 vehicles a day traveling on it. It was built in the late 1800s as a stopover for travelers. It has a population of 2,236, with a growth spurt from the early 1900s to the mid-20th century, when the population was 3,000.

History

The community was named after John Martin, a pioneer citizen. The community is located in the central part of the state. The town has a population of about 2,000 people. It is located on the banks of the Mississippi River, about 20 miles from the town of Bemidji, the state's largest city. It was founded by John Martin in 1858, after he moved there from New York City.

Geography

The borough is part of the New Jersey Bay Area, which is also known as the Mid-Hudson Bay Area and the Delaware Bay Area. It is the only borough in New Jersey that is not part of New Jersey or New York City. It has a population of 1,856 (1,854 in the 2010 Census) and a population density of 1.2 people per square mile (3.1/km²) The borough's population was 1,788 (1, 836 in the 2000 Census) in 2010. The town's population has declined from 1,938 in the 1950s to 1,632 in the 1990s. It was the site of the first recorded lynching in the United States, in 1858. The city's name is derived from the town's first inhabitants, the Martinsburg Indians, who came to the area in the late 1800s. The current mayor of the borough is the son of a former mayor, who was killed in a car accident in the early 1900s. He is a former member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and served as mayor from 1961 to 1970. The Borough's population is 1,800 (1.,868 in the 1970s and 2010s).

It is the only borough in the state that does not have a state highway system. It has a total population of 2,235, making it one of the smallest boroughs in the U.S. and the only one in New Jersey with a population of more than 1,000 people. The town has a population density of 3,500 people per sq mile (2,500/km) and a population growth rate of 1.7 per cent.
