China Grove

China Grove is a city in Rowan County, North Carolina, United States. The city is located just north of Landis and south of Salisbury. It was one of the first towns in the United States to have Rural Free Mail Delivery. The town was named for a grove of chinaberry trees planted near the depot. China Grove is located at 35°3413N 80°3441W (35.570289, -80.577934).According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.0 square miles (5.2 km²), all of it land. Most students in the town are served by the Rowan-Salisbury School System and primarily go to South Rowan High School, located in the city. The median household income was $36,580 and the median family income was $40,402. The per capita income for the town was $17,040. About 10.2% of families and 12.8% of those under the age of 18 were below the poverty line, including 18.2%, 7.5% and 13.6% respectively. The average household size was 2.58 and the average family size was 3.05, according to the 2000 census. The racial makeup of the town is 85.70% White, 6.97% African American, 0.28% Native American, 0.94% Asian, 5.39% Pacific Islander, and 0.58% from two or more races.

China Grove is the primary city name, but also Kannapolis are acceptable city names or spellings. The official name is China Grove, North Carolina. The town is located in the U.S. state of New Mexico. China Grove is home to the China Grove High School, which was founded in 1903. The school was the first in the state to graduate from high school. It was also the first high school in New Mexico to graduate with a bachelor's degree. It is also the only high school to have graduated with a master's degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The high school has a history that dates back to the early 19th century. It has a population of 1,788. It also has a post office that opened in 1872. It closed in the early 20th century, when the town was incorporated as China Grove. The post office is still in operation today, and the town's population has grown to 1,856. It lies in the New Mexico state line, at 35.3413 miles (80.3441 miles) from New Mexico's capital city of Las Vegas, and is located near the junction of Interstate 80 and I-20. The U.N. Census Bureau says the town is made up of 2,068 residents. It had a population in the year of 1872, when it was first incorporated.

The racial makeup of the town was 85.70% White, 6.97% African American, 0.28% Native American,0.94% Asian, 5.39% from other races, and 0.58% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 9.43%. The median household income was $36,580 and the median family income was $40,402. About 10.2% of families and 12.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 18. 2% of those under age 18 and 7.5% ofThose age 65 or over. The average household size was 2.58 and the average family size was 3.05. The age distribution was 25.6% under the age of 18, 9.9% from 18 to 24, 29.9%, 21.0% from 45 to 64, and 13. 6% 65 or older. The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females there were 94.1 males. The per capita income for the city was $17,040. The population density was 1,847.9 inhabitants per square mile (713.5/km²).

Education

Most students in the town are served by the Rowan-Salisbury School System. Most students go to South Rowan High School, which is located in town. The town has a population of about 2,000 people. It is located near the town of Salisbury, North Carolina, in the U.S. state of North Carolina and South Rowan, South Carolina in the United  States. It has an estimated population of 2,200. It was the site of the World War I Battle of the Bulge, which took place in 1881 and 1882. The Battle was the first battle to be fought in the United States, and the first to be won by the U S. Army. The battle was fought in Salisbury's town center, which was built in 1883. It also played a role in the Battle of Gettysburg, which occurred in 1894. It's also known as one of the first battles of the Civil War, which began in 1864 and was fought near Salisbury in 1875. It was also the first time the town was used as a base for the Civil Rights Movement. The city is known as the birthplace of the American Civil Rights movement in the late 1800s and early 1900s, when it was known as "Salisbury, South Carolina" The town is also known for being home to the first African-American community, the Salisbury African American community, which dates back to the 18th century.
