Bostwick

Bostwick was incorporated by the Georgia General Assembly in 1902. The community was named in honor of John Bostwick, a founding resident. The town is located at 33°4414N 83°3054W (33.737220, -83.514957). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 3.1 square miles (8.0 km²) of which 3. 1 square miles is land and 0.32% is water. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 378. The city is located in Morgan County, Georgia, United States. The population of the town was 322 as of the census of 2000, with a racial makeup of 81.37% White and 18.63% African American. The median income for a household in the town is $39,464, and the family income is $56,667. About 5.7% of families and 7.5% of the population were below the poverty line, including 4.8% of those under age 18 and 16.3% of people age 65 or over. The per capita income was $19,005. It is the only city in Georgia with a population over the age of 50 that is not located in the state of Florida or South Carolina. It has a population density of 104.6 inhabitants per square mile (40.4/km²). It is located on the Georgia Turnpike.

History

Bostwick was incorporated by the Georgia General Assembly in 1902. The community was named in honor of John Bostwick, a founding resident. The town has a population of about 1,000 people. It is located on the banks of the Chattahoochee River, which runs through the center of the town. It was named after John Bstwick, who was a founding member of the community. The city's name is derived from the word "bostwick" which means "to hold" or "to keep" in reference to the town's name. It also means "home" in English and "town" in Spanish. It has been home to a number of notable people, including George Washington, President of the United States, President Abraham Lincoln, and President George H.W. Bush. It's also known as "the birthplace of the state of Georgia" and "the home of the Republican Party" It was incorporated in 1902 by the General Assembly of Georgia, and was named for John B Stowwick, the community's first resident. It became a city in 1903. It had a population of around 1,200 people in the early 1900s, when it was incorporated as a city. It was named for Stow Wilson, a founder of the Georgia State College of the Arts and Sciences. It now has a total population of around 2,000 residents, and is located in the Chattooga County, Georgia, where it was once called "The City of the Saints".

It is located on the New Hampshire Turnpike, which runs through the town. It was the site of the World War II Battle of the Bulge, which took place in World War I and II. It has been home to a number of notable figures, including President George H.W. Bush and former President Bill Clinton. It also has been the location of the United States' first post office, which was established in 1858. The post office closed in the 1950s. It reopened in the 1960s. The current post office was established on September 1, 1961. It opened again in the 1970s. In the 1990s, the post office reopened again, this time with a new name, "BostWick". The town's population has grown to 1,715. It had a population in the 2010 Census of 2,816.
